The IRIS extension

IRIS Computer Audio

For calls in the browser: Google Meet, Zoom and Teams on the web, webinars and lectures. If IRIS is running on your glasses, the cues show there. If not, they show in a side panel next to the call.

For calls in the browser with your glasses on: Google Meet, Zoom and Teams on the web, webinars and lectures. The extension sends the call into the session on your glasses, so the cues and the summary cover both sides.

IRIS for Windows

A browser extension cannot hear the Zoom or Teams desktop apps. The Windows app can, and it is on its way. Until then, join the call from Chrome or Edge instead: Zoom, Teams and Meet all run there, and the extension hears them.

Questions.

Do I need the glasses?
For the extension, yes: it sends the call into the session on your glasses. Without glasses, use IRIS on the web: it shows the cues on the page and hears your microphone as well as the call.
Do I need the glasses?
No. Without them, the extension and IRIS on the web show the cues on your screen and hear your microphone as well as the call. With them, the call goes to your glasses and the glasses hear you.
I used IRIS Computer Audio before
It is now the IRIS extension, and Chrome updates it for you. There is no pairing code any more: connect it once with your IRIS sign-in, as above. Send this screen to my glasses is still there while IRIS runs on your glasses.
Will the other people on the call know?
IRIS adds nothing to the call: no bot joins, and you keep hearing the call as normal. Depending on where you live, transcribing a conversation may need the other people’s consent, so tell them when it matters.
